Texas is proud to have become the next state to become a part of a national initiative to promote savings in the United States titled AMERICA SAVES. Community leaders recognized the dismal savings rate in the state of Texas. A Texas grassroots 501c3 not-for-profit organization called Jr.Finance Literacy Academy (www.jrfinance.com) along with a national partner Consumer Federation of America (www.consumerfed.org) have organized the effort now involving more than 52 state and national organizations: financial institutions, community groups, employers, faith-based institutions, schools, government agencies, credit counselors, and many others.

Texas Saves assists and encourages them to build wealth through savings. This highly visible community-based campaign was launched in November 2004 and we are expanding city by city promoting savings and working to change financial behavior in adults and youth.
